The Bible makes it very clear!

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

-1 John 5:13

One reason the Bible was written was to give us the plan of Salvation, so we could find out how to go to Heaven.

1 We Are All Sinners
There are no perfect people.  We have all lived long enough to know that we are not perfect, and that we have sinned in many ways. We all fall short of God’s standard of Righteousness.
 
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.”
-Romans 3:10
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
-Romans 3:23
2 There’s a Penalty for Sin
There are two deaths in the Bible: Physical and Spiritual.  Physical death is when our Body dies. Spiritual death is when the body dies, and the soul is separated from God, and goes to a place the Bible calls “Hell”. If we receive what we deserve, as sinners, it would be to die and go to that place called “Hell” for Eternity. This is the penalty on our sin.
 
“For the wages of sin is death;”

3 Jesus Paid for the Penalty
God saw our situation as sinners.  So, He devised a plan for us to be saved from “Hell”.  He loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross to pay our sin debt. With the shedding of Jesus’s blood, the penalty for the sins of the whole world was paid.
     After His death, He was buried; and three days later, He arose from the grave. In doing so, Christ made it possible for anyone to go to Heaven.
 
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
-Romans 5:8
4 We Must Accept Him by Faith
God’s gift to us is eternal life in Heaven.

A gift cannot be purchased or earned. It can only be received. This is the only way we can get to Heaven. Wouldn’t you like to receive God’s free gift of eternal life?

By faith, we must accept what Christ did for us. It is His gift to us.

Our good works such as church attendance, baptism, communion, and being a good citizen may have their place, but they will not give us eternal life and Heaven.  We all have a decision to make!  Are you willing right now to Trust Jesus Christ as your Savior? Will you receive Him by putting your faith and trust in Him, and Him alone?

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:9-10
 
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
 
If you recognize you are a sinner and deserve to go to hell; and believe that Christ died, was buried, and rose again to provide the free gift of eternal life for you; and you are ready to pray and trust Christ as your personal Savior, please pray this simple Prayer to express your Faith in Christ:
 
“Dear Jesus, I know I am a sinner and deserve Hell, and I know I cannot save myself. I believe You died for me on the cross, was buried, and rose from the dead, and I Trust you to be my Savior. Thank you for forgiving my sins, and giving me the gift of eternal Life. Amen.”
